Teams in the PSAC West are starting to put some space between each other. IUP and Gannon sit atop the PSAC West and have now clinched births for the PSAC Tournament.

Here’s how the PSAC West team’s in action fared this week:
IUP won its only game of the week over Seton Hill. Four Crimson Hawks scored in double figures, led by Brandon Norfleet’s 15 points and six assists.
Gannon went 2-0 for the week, beating Slippery Rock and Mercyhurst. In the first win, Raphell Thomas-Edwards scored 20 points and pulled down six rebounds. In the second, Edwards scored 17.
Cal went 0-2 over the past week, losing to both Mercyhurst and Edinbor. In the first loss, Alonzo Murphy had nine points and 12 rebounds for Cal. In the second, Murphy and Jake Jacubec each had 12 points.
Mercyhurst went 1-1. In the win over Cal, Jean Onana had 14 points. In the loss to Gannon, Onana scored 14, again.
Edinboro went 1-1 for the week. The loss came to Seton Hill. Bryan Theriot scored 15 points to go with eight rebounds. In the win over Cal, Theriot posted a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds.
Clarion’s only game of the week came in the form of a loss to Pitt-Johnstown. Mike Kromka led the way with 20 points and 17 rebounds.
Seton Hill went 1-1. In the win over Edinboro, Malachi Leonard scored 21 points and pulled down eight boards. In the loss to IUP, Nebojsa Stanojevic scored 16 points and pulled down six boards.
Slippery Rock went 1-1. In the loss to Gannon, Maurice Lewis-Briggs scored 27 points to go with his eight rebounds. In a win over Pitt-Johnstown, Briggs had 17 points and eight rebounds.
Pitt-Johnstown went 1-1, beating Clarion but losing to Slippery Rock. In the win, Bill Luther scored 20 points while pulling down seven rebounds. In the loss, Ian Vescovi had 23 points.
As far as stats go, much has stayed the same. Edinboro’s Theriot leads the PSAC West in scoring, averaging 17.7 points per game. Theriot also leads the PSAC West in shooting percentage, hitting 60.2 percent of his shots from the floor. Pitt-Johnstown’s Luther is the West’s best 3-point shooter, shooting 42.7 percent from behind the arc. Clarion’s Kromka leads the entire PSAC in rebounding, pulling down 9.2 rebounds per game. IUP’s Devante Chance leads the PSAC West with 4.1 assists per game with Pitt-Johnstown’s Nate Snodgrass close behind with 4.0 per game. Snodgrass also has the best assist/turnover ratio in the West, with 2.1 IUP’s Devon Cottrell averages the most steals per game with 2.3 while Gannon’s Adam Blazek leads in blocks, swatting away 2.2 shots per game.
