MLB.com put out their list of Top 100 Prospects tonight. The Pittsburgh Pirates have four prospects that made the list. Gerrit Cole and Jameson Taillon were the most notable. Cole, the right-handed prospect, is one of the top prospects that is league-ready for the Pirates. Last season he went 5-1 with a 2.55 ERA in Class A, 3-6 with a 2.90 ERA in Double-A, and 1-0 in six scoreless innings in his only start in Triple-A. Pitt loses to #12 Louisville
The Panthers had a very poor showing Monday night against the Louisville Cardinals. The Cardinals took care of business at home beating the Panthers 64-61, snapping their three game losing streak. Pitt opened up the game leading 9-6, but fell into a hole, as Louisville went on a 12-0 run. The Panthers went nearly five minutes without a field goal and trailed 32-26 at the half. Hines Ward keeping in the spotlight after retirement
Hines Ward played for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1998-2011 and retired a legend a year ago. After retiring, the Steelers unofficially retired Wards' No. 86 and it will not be issued to players in the future.
