Pens win wild one over Jets
The Penguins welcomed back two more of their star players, but threw out the defense in a 6-5 victory over the Winnipeg Jets, Sunday afternoon. Evgeni Malkin scored twice and added an assist in his first game since exiting Detroit with a lower body injury on December 14th. Kris Letang returned from an elbow infection to add an assist. The Seton Hill Griffins had no problem shaking off the rust of the holiday break as they came back and picked up two sound wins, improving their overall record to 10-3 in the process. After laying an egg in the last game of 2013, the Penguins kicked off the new year by cruising to a 5-2 victory over the New York Rangers, Friday night. Dukes Roll Over Appalachian State for Fourth Straight Win
Duquesne improved to 7-5 Thursday night with a runaway 79-55 victory over Appalachia State (4-9). The victory was Duquesne’s fourth in a row and marks the longest win streak since the 2010-2011 season, when the Dukes won 11 straight games under coach Everhart.
