Steelers GM Kevin Colbert was able to keep two valuable veteran players on Wednesday by signing them to contract extensions, while simultaneously saving money on the 2014-15 salary cap. Heath Miller, the 31 year-old TE, comes off a successful rebound season after he missed much of the previous year with a knee injury. He signed a deal that will keep him in Pittsburgh through 2016, lowering his cap hit next season by $3 million. Safety Troy Polamalu, 32, will make $20 million over the next ... Read More

Let Dixon be the Coach
As a high school coach I have had to learn to abide by the 24 hour rule. This means taking a deep breath and making sure I wait to reply to parents emails or confront any issue that might come up during the season. Visceral responses usually are fed with emotions and are not thought through, and this can mean trouble. That's because it leads to impulsive statements and conclusions. This got me to thinking about Pitt basketball in 2014. Not going to lie, Jamie Dixon's timeout at the end of ... Read More
