Duquesne (4-6) is aiming to put Sunday afternoon’s 78-69 Maryland Eastern Shore loss behind them in battling Texas-Pan American (5-7) tonight at 7:00 pm ET at the A.J. Palumbo Center. Sunday’s loss for the Dukes marked the team’s fifth loss in six games. Despite this losing streak, Duquesne assists on 59 percent of field goals, led by junior guard Derrick Colter’s team-high 29 assists. As of the December 30 games, Colter is also ranked first nationally in 3-point percentage, while junior ... Read More

Family Doesn’t Die
Penn State relies on the importance of family. University fans probably have some whiplash from the roller coaster they have been on in the last few years. New coaches, sanctions, and the departure of beloved players have hit fans where it hurts, but there is one thing that they can rely on, no matter the circumstances. They have the loyalty and dedication of a family from their football team. Familial ties have always been strong amongst the Nittany Lions, and that’s probably head coach ... Read More

The Penguins losing streak is now up to four games now. “Its something we got to stop,” said captain Sidney Crosby “I think we go out there and improve upon this one and get a win but yeah we definitely don’t want to continue the same way.” The Penguins started out strong with Crosby scoring the first goal of the night ... Robert Morris defeats rival Penn State to advance to Three Rivers Classic final
The Robert Morris Colonials unveiled new red sweaters as they hosted the Penn State Nittany Lions in the second semifinal of the Three Rivers Classic at Consol Energy Center. They certainly had the Lions seeing red as the Colonials frustrated the nation’s top shooting offense with strong goaltending from junior netminder Terry Shafer and physical defensive play. Goaltenders Eamon McAdam and Shafer dominated the first half of the game, but everything opened up when Penn State defenseman ... Read More

Are Steelers better without Taylor and Polamalu?
When the Steelers defensive starters were introduced last night in the electric playoff-like atmosphere of Heinz Field, it was hard not to notice two names missing as the starters were announced. After a decade of getting used to, and maybe a little spoiled by hearing the names of Ike Taylor and Troy Polamalu in big time games like the one last night against the Bengals, nagging injuries kept both on the sidelines. For Taylor, it's been a career with little fanfare or recognition beyond ... Read More

The beleaguered Pittsburgh Penguins will head to Newark, New Jersey tonight in search of their first win to break their three-game losing streak. Don’t blame Reggie Nelson for Bell injury
Don't blame Reggie Nelson for the injury to Le'Veon Bell. Though it would be easy to do, and when you look at the low hit on arguably the best running back in the NFL, it gets even easier. After all, the third quarter hit to Bell's knee by the Bengals safety left Bell limping off the field with a hyperextension, and the injury has Bell's status for the Steelers playoff contest against the Baltimore Ravens very much in doubt. Beyond the fact that Bell has been dominant in 2014, and is even ... Read More
Pittsburgh Steelers Report Card after division clinching win vs. Bengals
The Pittsburgh Steelers capped off a solid regular season Sunday night by defeating the Cincinnati Bengals to capture the AFC North crown and earn the right to host a playoff game on Saturday. There was a lot to like about the Steelers performance and some things not to like as well. With that being said, here’s a look at how the Steelers graded out in my weekly Pittsburgh Steelers Report Card. Quarterback- Ben Roethlisberger was not feeling very well, but still managed to throw for 317 ... Read More
