Penguins recall Matt Murray
It was announced this morning that goaltender Matt Murray has been recalled from American Hockey League’s (AHL) Wilkes-Barre/Scranton team. Current rookie of the year, Murray has the best save percentage in the AHL as well as the third-best goals-against average. Currently this season Murray has played in 30 AHL games, winning 19 of those games played. Duquesne (15-12, 5-9) dropped a 77-74 decision to Rhode Island (15-2, 7-7) yesterday in a game that came down to the foul line. Despite finishing with four more field goals than the Rams, the Dukes made 10 free throws to the Rams’ 21. Often this season it has seemed that the Pitt Panthers go as Jamel Artis goes. On Saturday at Syracuse Artis was very good and so were the Panthers. Artis finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds as the Panthers defeated the Orange 66-52 Saturday afternoon at the Carrier Dome, keeping their NCAA Tournament hopes alive.
