Steelers get good juju with 2nd-round pick: JuJu Smith-Schuster
The Pittsburgh Steelers are hoping their second-round pick brings some good juju to the Steel City. With the No. 62 overall pick, the Steelers selected USC wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster. As a Trojan, Smith-Schuster (the youngest player in the 2016 NFL Draft at 20 years old) tallied 10 touchdowns in each of his last two seasons and had 2,368 receiving yards. His best season came in 2015, when he had 89 catches for 1,454 and averaged 16.3 yards per catch. PITTSBURGH WHAT'S ... Read More
Bryant stirs up trouble with reaction to Smith-Schuster draft pick
Martavis Bryant has only been back in the NFL for a few days — after sitting out all last season due to a marijuana-related suspension — but he's already causing problems. After the Pittsburgh Steelers selected USC WR JuJu Smith-Schuster in the second round (with the No. 62 overall pick), Bryant had this to say about his team's draft pick: lol that's Sammie coates replacement not minds take it how you want to I am back. — Martavis Bryant (@ThaBestUNO) April 29, 2017 Bryant followed ... Say Watt? Steelers take T.J. Watt in first round of NFL Draft
The Pittsburgh Steelers just did Watt? Thursday night, with the 30th overall pick in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the Steelers selected linebacker T.J. Watt, a redshirt junior out of the University of Wisconsin. The pick fits perfectly. Pittsburgh desperately needed a pass-rushing OLB who can work with James Harrison — who still might play until he's in his 60s — and who can play alongside Bud Dupree. The Steelers got just that with Watt. The card that made it official. ... Read More
Crosby scores two to lead Penguins to 3-2 victory over Capitals
For the first 20 minutes, the game was scoreless. But it took just 12 seconds into the second period for Sidney Crosby to give the Pittsburgh Penguins the lead. And just 52 seconds later, he doubled it. The Washington Capitals managed to tie the game up at 2-2, but another timely goal — this time off the stick of Nick Bonino — gave the Penguins the 3-2 win in D.C. to take the early 1-0 lead in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. In a series that had been billed as “Crosby vs. ... Read More
Penguins versus Capitals the “real” Stanley Cup Finals
This season, the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Washington Capitals have easily been two of the best teams in the NHL. And now, the two are set to meet in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs — meaning, unfortunately for viewers and hockey fans, only one of these teams will make it to the Eastern Conference Finals. The Penguins and Capitals aren't strangers; they met four times this season, splitting the series. And the games weren't exactly low-scoring, either, with Pittsburgh winning ... Read More
2017 NFL Mock Draft: Pittsburgh Steelers
The NFL Draft is quickly approaching, and while fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers continue to mourn the passing of chairman Dan Rooney, the front office is hard at work figuring out who to take in the 2017 NFL Draft. The Steelers have eight picks in this year’s draft, which will be held in Philadelphia, Penn. After losing players like linebacker Lawrence Timmons and wide receiver Markus Wheaton to free agency, the Steelers won't be entirely focused on a defensive draft — like they normally ... Read More
Riverhounds goalie Keasel Broome coming into his own
Keasel Broome had unfinished business with Pittsburgh. That’s why the goalkeeper signed with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds back in November. “The Riverhounds was the first place I came on trial after college,” Broome says. “When I was on trial, I was drafted by the San Jose Earthquakes, and I want to finish where I first started my journey.” But that trial wasn’t the only time Broome was in Pittsburgh before he signed with the Riverhounds. Broome also played against the Riverhounds last ... Read More
